Mama Davina D. Estrella Ramey is a community-rooted birth worker, educator, and cultural practitioner dedicated to protecting, perpetuating, and preserving traditional and practical knowledge of reproduction in service of healthier families and stronger communities.
Her work is guided by advocacy, ancestral wisdom, cultural congruence, humility, compassion, integrity, authenticity, respect, reverence, patience, curiosity, and reciprocity. Mama Davina believes deeply in meeting people where they are—with care, accountability, and a lifelong commitment to remaining teachable.
A wife and mother of seventeen children—ten who returned to spirit and seven living births—she also holds the cherished roles of bonus mother and grandmother to two. Within her community she is known as a trusted auntie, listener, and guide. As both a survivor and a thriver, Mama Davina carries a lifetime of lived experience that informs the depth and compassion of her work.
These experiences have shaped her calling as a deep listener, counselor, and supporter for individuals and families navigating pregnancy, birth, loss, healing, and life transitions. Her work honors both the sacredness of reproductive experiences and the importance of culturally grounded care that restores dignity to the birth and postpartum journey.
Mama Davina’s path weaves together community advocacy, traditional knowledge, spiritual practice, and practical caregiving. She serves families through education, ceremony, mentorship, and hands-on support, always centering the wisdom that has long lived within communities around birth, healing, and collective care.
Her spiritual path is also an integral part of her service.
Mama Davina is an initiated Ìyánífá and Ọ̀ṣun priestess within the Yoruba Ìṣẹ̀ṣe tradition, and she also walks the ceremonial path of the Anáhuac traditions as a Sumadora and Moon Dancer, honoring Indigenous ceremonial lifeways that uphold prayer, discipline, and service to community.
Her training and community work reflect a multidisciplinary approach rooted in both personal experience and formal study.
